Three cheers for Arnie Silverman and his work to enhance our park system in metro Atlanta! It's the parks and the green that attract many people to our "Emerald City". But, often, our parks aren't appreciated and cared for as they should be. One great success story, however, is the Olmsted Linear Park along Ponce de Leon, designed (you guessed it)by the great landscape architect, Frederick Law Olmsted, at the turn of the 20th Century. Over the last 10 years, the Olmsted Linear Park Alliance has raised some $10 million to restore this historic linear park. Now it needs assistance to help maintain and enhance this green legacy for future generations. Visit www.atlantaolmstedpark.org to find out how you can help and attend a "Dream in Green" fundraising gala in February!
