Thanks for your hopefulnesses because it is the hopefulness and hard work of people in public and private life that have made Atlanta emerge as one of America's most important cities. Since we are offering what we would do in another role, if I were a developer I would adopt "green" building standards, mixed income standards and sidewalk friendly design in all of my projects.

These words echo in my ear: “There’s a crisis in leadership.”

That's a dire statement.

Great piece.

Unfortunately, it seems our state leaders are going to try and suck any hope right out of the room. They are starting to fudge on the transportation bill...AGAIN!

Funny. While sitting at a BeltLine Network meeting last week, I also concluded that Angel Poventud is among "the most inspirational souls in our city." What planet is he from ? I'm looking forward to taking a BeltLine walk soon.

Thank you, Maria for sharing a sense of hope for Atlanta. We need to believe again.

Roads and pavement will continue to exist, and will continue to service the bulk of transportation needs in our city for a long while. What we can all hope (and lobby) for are the real transit alternatives that don't exist yet.

Everyone ought to try the PATH trail at Tanyard Creek. It is getting a huge amount of use, and is very pleasant. Thank heavens for PATH.

As the saying goes, one man's trash is another man's treasure. I think Mike Dobbins' waxings are the former, but apparently Drew feels differently. Often the ability to speak, and the ability to think, are negatively correlated.

Maria,
Let's hear some chatter about the former planning commissioner's forum last wee at White Provisions. Always love to hear Mike Dobbins wax intelligently. Wish he was still our planning commissioner. Thought it was a great session!
