A black coyote in Georgia

Coyotes have become more populous in metro Atlanta, probably because of available food sources such as pet food, road kill and the smaller animals drawn to those sources.

Good Heavens!  I didn't know they come in this color.  I just saw one in Stockbridge and assumed it was part dog because it was so dark.  But everything else about it was sure coyote!  And I got a good long look. I was following it in my car because, at first sight from a distance, I had thought it was MY dog that had got out again.

Wow.
