In today’s highly mobile and interconnected world, a disease outbreak anywhere is a threat everywhere. An epidemic in even the most isolated village can reach major cities all around the globe in as little as 36 hours, disrupting international travel, markets, and business. The challenge of preventing the next epidemic is bigger than any one health system or pathogen, requiring innovative partnerships across sectors and program areas. As traditional funding for international development comes under strain, cross-sector collaboration is taking on increasing importance as a means to maximize the reach and sustainability of individual global health security efforts.

Join the Georgia Global Health Alliance for a luncheon this Friday, January 12 at 11:00am at the Carter Center. Hear from CDC leadership about recent international public health emergencies like Ebola and Zika, their impact on the private sector, and how we can work together to prevent the next epidemic. Immediately following the keynote address, an expert panel will explore the respective roles of public and private sector actors during and following recent global health emergencies, as well as success stories and lessons learned. Learn more about the luncheon speakers below and register for the event here.

GGHA workshops aim to translate strategic opportunities into action by facilitating and professionally managing, focused, goal-oriented and outcomes-based bi- and multilateral workshops, to identify areas of common interest, build relationships, cultivate trust and form effective collaborations and ventures amongst GGHA members, and as appropriate, other state, regional, national and international global health stakeholders. GGHA and PricewaterhouseCoopers Health Industries Advisory Group have collaborated to organize and facilitate this strategic workshop.
