This week, we introduce a series of interviews with Linda Matzigkeit, chief administrative officer of Children’s Healthcare of Atlanta. Mrs. Matzigkeit was instrumental in launching the Strong4Life campaign in Georgia. The controversial obesity ads that made headlines over a year ago began Children’s push to open the eyes of parents in Georgia. Today, Strong4Life offers a variety of wellness programs aimed at stopping and reversing childhood obesity in our state. Georgia ranks second in the nation for childhood obesity, just behind Mississippi. It is estimated that Georgia obesity costs the state 2.4 billion dollars a year.
