The member of the hip-hop group Migos died at the age of 28.

Early Tuesday morning, Atlanta-based rapper and Migos member Takeoff was fatally shot outside a Houston bowling alley after an altercation broke out during a dice game, according to several reports. Two others, who have yet to be identified, also sustained non-life-threatening injuries.

Some of Atlanta’s well-known leaders and entertainers took to social media to share their reactions to the news of rapper and Migos member Takeoff’s early morning killing.

This is heartbreaking news and a tragic loss to GA and the music industry. Born and raised in Gwinnett County, Kirshnik Khari Ball influenced Hip Hop and our Culture beyond measure.

My condolences are with Takeoff’s family, friends and all those who were inspired by his talent. https://t.co/5SI04LzTau

The Lawrenceville native was one-third of the Grammy-nominated trio Migos with his uncle Quavo and cousin Offset. Chart-topping songs like “Bad and Boujee,” “Stir Fry” and “Versace,” Takeoff released a new album with Quavo last month titled “Only Built for Infinity Links.”

#Takeoff, I mourn that such frivolous violence has ended your life. My heart goes out to Takeoff’s family and to all who are devastated by his death. We have a lot of work to do in transforming the culture of violence into a culture of community awareness and care. pic.twitter.com/dEu6nsGauC
