Fulton County Board of Commissioners Chairman Robb Pitts will face former Commissioner Mo Ivory in a June 16 runoff election.
Pitts and Ivory emerged from a three-person primary race Tuesday that also included Commissioner Marvin Arrington Jr.
According to Fulton election results, Ivory received the most votes with 40% (64,188), followed by Pitts with 35% (56,026). Arrington received 25% (40,731).
Because no candidate received 51% of the vote, the race advances to a runoff.
Pitts has served as chairman since 2017 and previously served 12 years on the Fulton County Board of Commissioners.
Pitts appeared at a community meeting in College Park on May 14 and highlighted accomplishments during his tenure as chairman, including saying “No” to the “Russian Mob” during the cyberattack in 2024.
The county declined demands from the hacking group responsible for the ransomware attack.
In a video published on social media on Wednesday, Pitts contrasted his experience with Ivory’s candidacy.
“Going forward, though, the voters will have a clear choice, my record of accomplishment and achievement through the years against someone who basically has no record, someone with no experience,” Pitts said.
Ivory served on the board of commissioners for 14 months before resigning in March to run for commission chair.
An attorney, Ivory has also served on several boards, according to her website, including Atlanta Beltline Inc.
Ivory has said that it is time for a generational change in Fulton County leadership and that she would focus on a more “fair” and “humane” court and jail system.
Combining the number of votes for Arrington and herself, Ivory says, voters are showing they’re ready for change.
“When communities feel unheard long enough, they begin looking for something different,” Ivory said on social media Wednesday.

Commissioner Pitts has a long history of standing up for seniors, especially in supporting reducing property taxes. Let’s stand with Robb Pitts once again!
He is truly a sincere blessing to our communities.
It’s long overdue for a change. Mo Ivory is that needed change. Let’s vote for our future and not the past and the present which is not bright. Thank you Rob Pitts for all you’ve done but it is time to move on to new ideas and policies.
