International Exhibition The Art of Banksy: “Without Limits” Opens at Underground Atlanta for Its North American Debut

Atlanta fans of the acclaimed and provocative British artist Banksy can now experience his iconic works up close as The Art of Banksy: “Without Limits” exhibition opens for its North American debut at Underground Atlanta.

The exhibition – custom-built to fit venue’s historic space – includes several experiential areas and more than 155 of the artist’s works such as certified originals, prints, photos, lithographs, sculptures, murals, digital and other installations, and a video mapping show created only for this tour.

Tickets start at $29.20 and are available through ArtOfBanksy.com. The exhibition is open daily at 10 a.m. to 8 p.m. six days a week (closed Tuesdays) with later hours of operation on Fridays and Saturdays.

Building upon the incredible success of The Art of Banksy: “Without Limits” in Europe, the Middle East and Australia, to date over 1.2 million people have visited the exhibition worldwide. In Atlanta nearly 3,000 tickets sold in the first 20 minutes of availability on May 18, creating limited availability for the early weeks. Tens of thousands of tickets sold, further indicative of the strong public interest in the exhibition.

Regarded as one of the most valuable and talked about artists of our time, Banksy’s popularity cannot be denied. The exhibition The Art of Banksy: “Without Limits” is presented by SEE Global Entertainment. More than 20 of Banksy’s works are carefully reproduced with his stencil technique especially for the exhibition, including his March 2021 creation “Escape” originally appearing on England’s closed Reading Prison, and “Pulp Fiction” featuring likenesses of the film’s stars Samuel L. Jackson and John Travolta pointing bananas in place of pistols. The mural installation was completed by a creative team including three Atlanta-based street artists with the mononyms SPRAYKID, GhostKingOG and Big Papito.

A video documentary gives visitors insights into Banksy’s life and work, all presented in a unique setting. The show promises – and delivers – a genuinely impressive experience and is a “must see” to celebrate or learn about his art. Other highlights include “Dismaland” installations from Banksy’s 2015 pop-up Bemusement Park, prints of “Flower Thrower” and “Kissing Coppers” and the sculpture “Death of a Phone Booth.” Other surprises include a section dedicated to Banksy’s activism related to immigrants and an “infinity room” addressing politics.

“Visitors will find conversation starters around every corner of this exhibition as Banksy is an exciting and compelling artist we delight in sharing with the public for the first time in North America,” said Martin Biallas, CEO of SEE Global Entertainment. “Some consider Banksy a prankster and others regard him an artistic genius – no matter one’s perspective, worldwide it’s clear that everyone agrees Banksy’s popularity and influence cannot be denied.”

“Banksy has a unique power to express strong political statements with poetry, energy and humor and an unnerving ability to get to the heart of the subject matter,” added Biallas. “Any location that features Banksy’s work becomes the place to see, and in the USA that place is Underground Atlanta.”

The exhibition later moves to Miami and Charlotte, with other cities to be announced by SEE Global Entertainment later this year and during 2022. The founder of the exhibition, Kemal Gurkaynak, who is based outside the USA and considers himself a Banksy advocate, also affirms the incredible ability Banksy has to inspire conversation.

The Art of Banksy: ’Without Limits’ is not an exhibition but a show with a philosophy as Banksy loves to provoke, shock and even disturb society,” said Gurkaynak. “He does it with humor and poetry indeed. Banksy has the unique ability to express through his works some truths that most people don’t have the courage to say out loud. And, nowadays, we need to be sincere, empathetic and caring to one another more than ever. This is what Banksy’s art does: it has the power to unite people, ideas, values that can change the world for the better. Through The Art of Banksy: “Without Limits” our mission is to present the truth about Bansky’s art and to carry his powerful message into the world.”

As the cultural capital of the South, Atlanta boasts an eclectic range of activities for art and culture enthusiasts. The location for The Art of Banksy: “Without Limits” at Underground Atlanta provides additional space and convenience for ticket holders. Leadership from the downtown landmark’s new ownership group shared the following statement in July as the venue was announced for the exhibition.

“As we look to reestablish Underground’s significance in Atlanta, attracting one-of-a-kind experiences for our community is our first step,” said Shaneel Lalani, CEO of Lalani Ventures. “The Art of Banksy: ‘Without Limits’ exhibition is the most unique artist experience on the market right now, and we’re thrilled to be the host site. The urban and historic aesthetic Underground offers is the perfect backdrop for pieces of the world’s most famous street artist to be displayed and enjoyed by our city.”

The Art of Banksy: “Without Limits” successfully exhibited in multiple international cities including Istanbul, Amsterdam, Melbourne, Antwerp, Berlin, Bucharest, Cluj, Budapest, Riyadh, Vienna and Warsaw. The exhibition is famed for its unique installation in each location, ensuring a new and innovative experience for every visitor.
