Linginfelter takes on larger role with Regions
Regions Bank has promoted Atlantan Bill Linginfelter as area president for Georgia and South Carolina.
Linginfelter, a longtime Atlanta banker, joined Birmingham-based Regions Bank last June as area president for North Georgia. Previously, Linginfelter had been Wachovia Bank’s president for Georgia until a bank reorganization cost him his job in the fall of 2007.
And before that, Linginfelter had been Georgia president for Birmingham-based SouthTrust, which was acquired by Wachovia in 2004.
At Regions, Linginfelter is now covering a similar territory that he had at his two former employers.
“We will consolidate what we do in the state into one operation,” Linginfelter said of his new role with Regions.
Linginfelter he will continue to be able to fulfill his community roles. He is chair-elect of the Metro Atlanta Chamber; he is co-chair of the chamber’s transportation committee; and he is vice chairman of the Georgia Research Alliance.
But banking is the focus of most of his attention these days.
“It’s just an exciting time in banking for lots of different reasons,” Linginfelter said. “We are lending money, and there continue to great opportunities to build relationships. We are bringing our brand to the customer.”
