Midtown comes alive in the spring, with flowers blossoming, lush green trees – and dozens of free events happening in the great outdoors.

A big part of Midtown Alliance’s work plan for 2023 is programming and activating outdoor spaces such as Commercial Row Commons, 10th Street Park, and Arts District Plaza at 15th and Peachtree Streets. This is a year for experimentation to see what works and what doesn’t. Our staff is excited to test out different event formats, times of day and experiences to see what draws a crowd. We have a full slate of nearly 30 social events planned for this spring. And whether you’re interested in fun for the whole family, a day out with your four-legged friend, or live music, we have something for you.

Check out our calendar of spring events below, and make plans to attend the ones that interest you:

Acoustic Wednesdays: Every Wednesday at Commercial Row Commons, at the corner of Peachtree Street and Peachtree Place, Midtown Alliance is hosting a live musician to play an acoustic set. This is a casual, unticketed event – drop by at your leisure after work any time from 5 p.m. – 7 p.m.

Sunday Funday at MODA: Sundays are fun days, so bring the whole family out for a food truck and a day of activities outside the Museum of Design Atlanta! All events outside the museum are free, but entrance to MODA’s current exhibition requires a ticket. This coincides with the High Museum’s 2nd Sundays free admission days.

Pawty in the Park is a once a month mini-festival at 10th Street Park celebrating all things dog. Join us for food and drinks, games, live music, and more every third Saturday of the month through October from 12 p.m. – 4 p.m. The first-ever Pawty in the Park on March 18 was a barking success, with hundreds of two- and four-legged attendees, music by DJ Neon Horror and pop-up Jackalope ATL, curated by Punk Foodie. NeonHorror and Punk Foodie Unleashed are both returning for our next Pawty event on April 15, so if you missed out on the festivities last month, here’s your chance! Your RSVP gets you two free drink tickets.

Mutt Gala: The doggy social event of the season is happening April 30 at 10th Street Park. Dress your dog up in their finest for a red carpet experience and costume contest complete with PUParazzi, emceed by Atlanta drag legend Brigitte Bardot. Music from DJ Ree de la Vega, drinks for sale from Henry’s mobile bar and a pop-up food vendor curated by Punk Foodie. The event is free for spectators, with a small fee to enter the costume contest.

Midtown Outdoor Movie Night: In collaboration with Out on Film, Movie Night is happening at 10th Street Park on April 20 and May 25. On April 20th, we’ll be showing “Hedwig and the Angry Inch” in the great outdoors at sunset and “Grease” will be screened on May 25. Free popcorn is first-come, first-served – please bring your own chairs!

Jazz on the Plaza: Live jazz is back at Arts District Plaza on May 2, 9, 16 and 23 from 5 p.m. – 7 p.m. in partnership with the Atlanta Jazz Festival, taking place May 27-29 at Piedmont Park. Jazz on the Plaza is a free event that coincides with Colony Square’s Jazz in the Sky ticketed event on the same evening. We’re excited this weeknight event is returning for 2023. Lineup details coming soon.

We can all agree that Midtown is at its best when the sidewalks are full of people and quality events to experience. Midtown Alliance is excited to announce even more free outdoor events later this year. Stay tuned for the latest announcements with our community calendar.
