ULI Welcomes New Members of the Global Board of Directors and Governing Trustees
ULI Atlanta is so pleased to share the appointment of three members to significant leadership positions in the Americas and globally for the Urban Land Institute.
All three of these individuals have provided remarkable leadership to ULI Atlanta and ULI more broadly over the years in the advancement of ULI’s mission to “Shape the future of the built environment for transformative impact in communities worldwide”. Highlights of their leadership include:
- Lisa Gordon, CEO of Atlanta Habitat for Humanity, has been appointed as a Global Governing Trustee. Lisa is immediate past chair of ULI Atlanta and currently serves as Governance Chair. She serves on the Americas Executive Committee and is Co-chair of the DEI Committee nationally;
- Faron Hill, President, Peregrine Oak, has been appointed incoming Chair of the ULI Foundation and a Global Governing Trustee. He is the co-founder and immediate past co-chair of the ULI Atlanta Capital Markets Council. He currently serves on the ULI Atlanta Advisory Board; and
- Tyrone Rachal, President of Urban Key Capital Partners, has been appointed as Global Governing Trustee. Tyrone is currently serving as Vice-Chair for ULI Atlanta and is past chair of the Public-Private Partnership Council nationally. Tyrone has been deeply engaged in advisory services panels, most recently serving on a panel to help advise the U.S. Virgin Islands on rebuilding its critical affordable housing stock after two category 5 hurricanes hit in 2017.
- Both Faron and Tyrone are graduates of the inaugural class of the ULI Atlanta Center for Leadership (2010).
The Global Governing Trustees serve as the high-level leadership group of ULI, responsible for representing and serving as the voice of the broad and diverse membership in substantive matters facing ULI in the execution of its mission, including:
- Electing the Global Chairman, the Global Board of Directors, Life Trustees, the ULI Foundation Board of Directors, and the Foundation Chairman.
- Framing the broad direction and agenda of ULI.
- Providing intellectual capital for the organization and for creating vibrant connections to organizational issues and initiatives.

WASHINGTON D.C. (July 6, 2021) – Five internationally renowned real estate industry leaders have joined ULI’s Global Board of Directors, and 34 additional industry luminaries have been added to the roster of the Institute’s Global Governing Trustees. Both the Global Board members and Global Governing Trustees will serve on a voluntary basis beginning on July 1, 2021.
The Global Board of Directors, which is the Institute’s global governing body, provides strategic direction for ULI in conjunction with the executive committees of each region in which ULI has a presence: the Americas; Europe, the Middle East, and Africa (EMEA); and the Asia Pacific region.
Working with ULI’s regional leadership, the Global Board continues to implement the Institute’s Global Strategic Plan, a multiyear strategy to improve member engagement and expand member impact worldwide, while taking into consideration the wider industry response to COVID-19. The plan seeks to improve member-to-member connections; strengthen and broaden ULI’s member networks; and encourage more philanthropic giving to support the Institute’s mission-oriented work.

Each candidate’s ULI activity and participation, in addition to industry leadership, were among the criteria considered for nominations.
