Before holiday shoppers fill Lenox Square’s stores, retailers need the people who will keep them running.
Lenox Square Mall will host its first retailer hiring event Saturday, Sept. 19, from 2 to 4 p.m. in the Dining Pavilion, connecting job seekers with retailers offering seasonal and long-term positions ahead of one of the busiest shopping periods of the year. Candidates can meet hiring teams, explore available positions and interview on the spot.
The event comes as retailers prepare for a holiday season expected to generate trillions of dollars in spending. Deloitte projects U.S. holiday retail sales will total between $1.70 trillion and $1.71 trillion from November 2026 through January 2027, up 4% to 4.8% from the same period in 2025. E-commerce sales are projected to reach between $316.1 billion and $318.9 billion, an increase of 7.5% to 8.4%.
“Consumers continue to place importance on making the holidays special for their friends and families, while also making deliberate choices about how they spend,” said Natalie Martini, Deloitte vice chair and U.S. retail and consumer products leader.
At Lenox Square, preparing for that spending also means preparing for an influx of shoppers. Lindsey Jones, director of marketing at Lenox Square, said millions of visitors come through the shopping center each year, including tourists and local shoppers.
“If you’ve been to Lenox, you can tell it’s…festive energy is…in the air,” Jones said. “So it’s just a fun place to work.”
Participating retailers include Banana Republic, Victoria’s Secret, Lush, MILUS ROSE, Pandora, St. John, PacSun, Lovesac and Bloomingdale’s. Positions range from sales associate and keyholder roles to assistant manager and manager positions.
Jones described the event as a “one-stop shop,” allowing candidates to learn about opportunities at multiple retailers without having to visit stores individually.
“We wanted to make it as easy as possible for job seekers, so you can come to one place and visit a bunch of retailers rather than having to go all over the mall,” Jones said. “I think it’s going to be really important that it’s centralized, so you can really see all your options and…find the best fit for you.”

The event is open to first-time job seekers, retirees, experienced retail workers, people seeking additional holiday income and those looking for a second job or career change. Both seasonal and long-term opportunities will be available.
For those hesitant to attend because they lack retail experience, Jones said that should not keep them away.
“We welcome everybody, even if you don’t have any retail experience, even if you’re a first-time job seeker,” Jones said. “This is the perfect place to come and meet retailers that are actively hiring.”
Candidates should bring multiple printed copies of their resumes, dress professionally and prepare to speak with employers and potentially interview on-site. Jones said enthusiasm is one of the most important qualities retailers are seeking.
“I think retailers are looking for people [who are] very enthusiastic, people that are excited to talk to people,” Jones said. “I think that’s the most important thing.”
And a holiday retail job can offer more than a paycheck.
“Discounts too. It’s not just the paycheck. It’s the discounts,” Jones said. “We can’t discount the discounts.” She added that employees can become part of a festive community, meet new people and gain new experiences.
Those experiences can also translate beyond retail.
“I think if you can work in retail, you can work anywhere,” Jones said. “I think retail really gives you a skill set of…learning all aspects of business, especially for first-time job seekers.”
For Lenox Square, the measure of success is not simply how many people walk through the doors Saturday, but how many find an opportunity on the other side.
“We want the best people to work at the best stores,” Jones said, “and that’s what the hiring event’s about.”
