On Feb. 28, 2026, the Atlanta Beltline continues its 10-year tradition of community empowerment with the launch of its 2026 Empowerment Workshop Series — kicking off with a hands-on, goal-setting workshop designed to connect people’s vision with practical action.

The Vision Board Party at Plywood Place will urge people to blend creativity with strategy, clarify priorities, set realistic goals, and map pathways to success, whether focused on financial stability, homeownership or long-term planning.

Beyond the Board

This isn’t just about making a vision board (though people will leave with one). The workshop provides goal-setting tools people can use throughout the year and connects them to upcoming workshops and community resources that make those goals achievable.

The event kicks off a comprehensive year of free programming focused on the real, practical knowledge homeowners need: learning wellness tips, as well as how to care of the home, navigating complex systems, and building financial resilience.

A Year of Essential Knowledge

Throughout 2026, the Empowerment Workshop Series will cover topics that can help participants save and build generational wealth.

Property Tax Appeals: In partnership with Atlanta Legal Aid, participants learn how to navigate the property tax appeal process and advocate for fair assessments—critical knowledge as property values shift across Atlanta.

Estate Planning with Pro Bono Lawyers: Creating a will protects people’s families and ensures their assets go where they intend. Pro bono legal partners guide participants through the process, removing cost as a barrier to this essential planning.

Homestead Exemptions: Many homeowners leave money on the table by not taking advantage of available property tax relief. These workshops ensure participants know what they qualify for and how to apply.

Homebuying Education: Whether someone is a first-time buyer or helping a family member navigate the process, learn the pitfalls to avoid and the opportunities to pursue. Real knowledge prevents costly mistakes.

Check-Ins: Regular financial health assessments provide the foundation for stability. Workshops offer tools and guidance for maintaining financial wellness throughout the year.

The Foundation for Success

These workshops build on the Atlanta Beltline’s commitment to resident empowerment. Just as the Legacy Resident Retention Program provides property tax relief to help longtime homeowners stay in their homes, the Empower Workshop Series ensures residents have the knowledge to maximize opportunities and protect their investments.

All workshops are free thanks to generous support to the Atlanta Beltline Partnership, the foundation that raises private and philanthropic funds and delivers community programs fully supported by donor contributions. These opportunities are made possible by donors and partners committed to accessible education, including Atlanta Legal Aid and pro bono legal providers.
