Atlanta Brings Super Bowl LIII to NYC

By Hala Moddelmog, President and CEO, Metro Atlanta Chamber
Super Bowl LIII is only a week away. In celebration, Atlanta and the entire region wrapped up an amazing day in New York with another strong appearance at the New York Stock Exchange. A delegation of more than 100 Atlanta-based CEOs and leaders joined us to ring the opening bell in recognition of Atlanta as the host city for Super Bowl LIII.

I had the pleasure of joining leaders on the bell podium including: Atlanta United and Atlanta Falcons Owner Arthur Blank, with Josh and Oliver Blank; Governor Brian Kemp; Mayor Keisha Lance Bottoms; Lt. Governor Geoff Duncan; House Speaker David Ralston; GRAMMY-winner Jermaine Dupri; Jeffrey C. Sprecher of NYSE and ICE; NFL Commissioner Roger Goodell; Doug Hertz of the Atlanta Super Bowl LIII Host Committee; Rich McKay of the Atlanta Falcons and Atlanta Super Bowl LIII Host Committee; Steve Cannon of AMB Group, Inc.; and William Pate of ACVB.
We were also proud to have many of our universities, economic development partners, Backed by ATL companies and others represent the region on the trading floor for the ringing of the opening bell.
With this showing, the region was able to officially kick off the countdown to Super Bowl LIII, which will bring the world’s attention to our city. We were also able to tell Atlanta’s story, from its unmatched culture to its welcoming community and its status as a top tech hub.
With visitors rolling in for the big game, it is important for us to communicate to them all of the exciting things going on in our city and region. We know our home as a region of visionaries who are inventing, connecting, inspiring and thriving – a region that nurtures and welcomes the brightest talent that crusades to change the world. It will soon be time for us to tell that story at a national and international level.
At the Metro Atlanta Chamber, with the help of multiple partners, we have created the ATL Brand Box – a free-to-use resource of photos, videos and quotes for anyone working to communicate the many great things about metro Atlanta to the world.
We will all be Atlanta and Georgia ambassadors for Super Bowl LIII, and I want to thank everyone who is helping us to put on a great show for every visitor to our home, including the members of the business community that made our trip to the NYSE possible.
I wish everyone a safe and fun Super Bowl LIII.
