There’s a rhythm to how things have traditionally been done in Atlanta. For decades, progress moved through networks of influence — often homogeneous, male-led spaces, where the city’s biggest decisions were made via conversations among familiar faces behind closed doors.
Today, the backdrop has changed. The world is more complex and fast-paced than ever before. And Atlanta is evolving with it: more dynamic, diverse, and an established hub of economic and cultural might.
Georgia has been my home for a very long time. And I’ve always believed that Atlanta holds impossibly exciting potential.
What makes this city so special is the willingness of its people to come together with a shared sense of responsibility for the city’s future, regardless of background or belief.
One truth from those earlier ways of doing business still holds true: meaningful progress begins with community. It starts when we create space for honest, intentional dialogue across industries, identities, and experiences. The future of our city will be shaped by how well we ensure that this mosaic of voices has a seat at the table.
That’s why I was honored to join Atlanta Way 2.0 as an Activator, a movement rooted in reimagining how we lead together. I was immediately drawn to its clear, powerful mission: to connect those committed to shaping Atlanta’s next chapter.
I recently hosted one of the early orientation gatherings at SignatureFD, the wealth management firm I have the privilege of serving as chief executive and board chair. We brought together leaders from across the city — entrepreneurs, executives, creatives, and community builders — for conversations that felt long overdue.

We talked openly about what’s working, what’s broken, and most importantly, what’s possible. We shared perspectives, aspirations, and ideas about how we can support each other and our city by being more generous and more intentional with our influence. Even though I consider myself a ‘big tent’ person, I was struck by how naturally this event brought my worlds together: my work at SignatureFD, my passion for mentorship, and my belief that community is not just something we serve; it’s something we actively shape.
These conversations matter. Not because they always lead to immediate change but because they plant seeds that grow the roots of possibility, intertwined with one another. They remind us that leadership is showing up, making space, and inviting others in.
Atlanta is at an inflection point. The challenges we face are real, but so is the opportunity. We have the talent, the creativity, and the collaborative spirit to shape a city that leads with inclusion, that innovates through connection, and that thrives on purpose.
Imagine the ripple effect if each of us made just one meaningful connection or had one inspiring conversation every day, week, or month. That’s the spirit of Atlanta Way 2.0 — a collective commitment to the future of our city, led not by ego but by care, courage, and community. I truly believe that Atlanta’s brightest days are ahead, and I’m grateful to Atlanta Way 2.0 for the opportunity to play a part in building what comes next.
