At long last, the City of Atlanta is set to begin accepting new online applications for emergency housing assistance funds.

In December, the city closed its online application portal for the federally supported program that provides households financially encumbered by the COVID-19 pandemic with money for rent, utility bills and other housing-related costs. Officials said they were too bogged down by requests for assistance.

On April 15, though, that digital window, hosted by United Way of Greater Atlanta, will once again reopen — this time with a fresh $15.2 million from the U.S. Department of the Treasury.

  1. Will this includes extended stay hotel this go around. We also need help to . It like if you been here over a year or longer and most of us have everything see own with us in the room . If you don’t have your rent for the week you are being put out the same day you can’t pay.apt..houses . You have time to come up with solution to pay . That’s not the case for people like me that stay in extended stay hotel. Is there any help for our situation.

    1. What the Extended stay hotels are doing is breaking the law, they by Georgia law cannot put one out in a day. See legislation Rep. Mable Thomas in 1986.

  2. DO YOU must HAVE SECTION 8 PROGRAM, AND WHERE ARE YOU GUYS LOCATED AT.AND IF YOU GUYS DON’T EXCEPT SECTION 8.WHAT YOU TAKE. AND MY DAUGHTER HAVING A BABY WITH HER BOYFRIEND. CAN THEY APPLY FOR THIS HOUSING.

My daughter can she get section 8 She is sharing a bedroom with someone and she only makes $180 a week can she please get section 8 and my son sleeps on the floor at a relativel house and he get Workmen’s Comp. $53 a week can he please get section 8 Covid has affected the family please thank you
