Communities across Metro Atlanta are facing unprecedented challenges, including youth mental health concerns, substance use, trauma, violence, and social isolation. These complex issues cannot be solved by any one organization working alone. They require collaboration, shared learning, and a commitment to building resilient communities together.
This was the focus of Star-C Programs’ recent Resilient Metro Community Webinar, which I had the privilege of moderating. Leaders from Resilient Georgia, the Georgia Center for Child Advocacy, The Confess Project of America, GoSOAR, and ARCHI came together to share how their organizations are advancing behavioral health, trauma-informed care, prevention, and resilience across our region.
At Star-C, we host these webinars to connect municipal, business, and nonprofit leaders, educators, housing providers, faith communities, healthcare professionals, public agencies and other stakeholders with practical resources and with one another. Every sector has a role to play. Understanding trauma in ourselves and others, strengthening protective factors, and building resilient systems are essential to creating communities where children, families, and neighborhoods can thrive.
The webinar also highlighted a broad range of evidence-based training opportunities available through our Resilient Metro partners. These trainings equip professionals and community leaders with practical tools to recognize concerns early, respond effectively, and foster healthier individuals and groups. We encourage everyone in a public-facing role and anyone with a heart for serving others to participate in Frontline Readiness Training on July 30. This two-hour virtual training provides a foundational understanding of mental health, practical strategies, and a shared language for engaging individuals and strengthening communities. Register at ARCHI Collaborative – Frontline Readiness Registration.
Together, we can build a stronger, healthier, and more resilient Metro Atlanta.
