By Christy Eckoff, managing director and philanthropic counsel, Community Foundation for Greater Atlanta
Are you a financial, legal, wealth management or accounting professional who wants to learn more about guiding your clients on a path to greater philanthropy? Apply to be a part of the 10th PALI class today!
The Philanthropic Advisor Leadership Institute (PALI) is now accepting applications for its 10th class for the 2019 – 2020 year. This program is a collaboration between the Community Foundation for Greater Atlanta, the Jewish Federation of Greater Atlanta and the United Way of Greater Atlanta. It provides financial, legal and accounting professionals with training designed to better educate them on incorporating charitable planning into their professional practice.
The purpose of PALI is to deepen participants’ understanding of how values motivate philanthropic clients, to hone existing estate and income tax planning skills as they relate to charitable planning and to forge strong and lasting professional ties between the various participants.
Over 200 professionals in the Atlanta region are alumni of PALI, who continue to learn about our nonprofit community together, discuss values based and charitable planning issues and network.
The program consists of five half-day programs designed to explore such topics as:
- How professionals from different disciplines can work together collaboratively
- What motivates philanthropists
- How the values of a professional influences their client’s charitable giving
- What are some of the philanthropic needs of the community
Sessions are held at nonprofit organizations throughout Atlanta so participants can see, first-hand, the needs of the community and the beneficial impact these programs provide.
Applications for the program will be accepted until June 3, 2019. The program starts September 24, 2019 and ends May 16, 2020. Notifications of acceptance will begin in late June.
