EarthShare of Georgia, which has been building employee-based giving campaigns for environmental organizations, recently announced that it has added three new groups to benefit from their fundraising in 2012.
The three groups are:
· the Flint Riverkeeper, which aims to restore and preserve habitat, water quality and flow of the Flint River for future generations and dependent wildlife;
· the Friends of Georgia State Parks & Historic sites, which works to raise “awareness of the economic and intrinsic values of Georgia’s great treasures,”
· and the Savannah Riverkeeper, which seeks to protect of the water quality of the Savannah River and the integrity of its watershed.
At the same time, EarthShare announced that its partnering with the largest independent certified public accounting and business advisory firm based in Georgia — Habif, Arogeti & Wayne LLP.
Habif Arogeti added EarthShare to become part of its annual employee giving campaign.
“This is the first year we are including EarthShare of Georgia in our employee giving campaign and the response has been great,” said Angela Dotson, the firm’s senior manager and chair of its Community Involvement Committee , in a statement.
Dotson said that the firm’s employees are “very excited to be able to do something positive for our local environment.”
At the same time, the accounting firm also is raising funds for a United Way campaign. “Our combined goal is to raise $25,000 by December 31st,” Dotson said. “I have encouraged staff to consider donating $5 per week — about the cost of a fancy latte—to help support our neighbors and the environment.”
EarthShare of Georgia is a non-profit that raises funds for more than 60 environmental organizations dedicated to conserving and protecting the air, land and water.
