Fifth Third Bank Growing Its Retail Presence in Georgia

Two New Locations in Dunwoody and Roswell

Fifth Third Bank recently celebrated the opening of two new Next Gen branches – one in Dunwoody at 1545 Mt. Vernon Road and the other in Roswell at 665 W Crossville Road. The new openings are a part of Fifth Third Bank’s retail expansion plan to grow its retail presence in the Southeast region by adding 100 locations. Recently, the Bank has welcomed new centers in the Dunwoody, Brookhaven/Chamblee area, Smyrna, Duluth and Johns Creek.

On January 20, the Bank held a ribbon cutting for the Dunwoody location. Mayor Lynn Deutsch attended the event. Other special guests included State Representative Long Tran, Northeast Outreach Representative for Senator Raphael Warnock’s office Katrina Cochran, Dekalb County District 1 Commissioner Robert Patrick and Dunwoody High School Principal Tom Bass.

On February 16, the Bank held a ribbon cutting ceremony where Roswell Council-member Christine Hall, Greater North Fulton Chamber Vice President Rebekah Anderson, Roswell Inc. Executive Director Steve Stroud, North Fulton Community Charities Director of Development Sherri Morgan and Roswell High School Athletic Director Ben Sutter were present.

As the Bank expands in Dunwoody and Roswell, it plans to further strengthen the local communities by providing funding to the local schools, city agencies and nonprofits. In Dunwoody, Fifth Third Bank partnered with the City of Dunwoody on its Green Light Box project by providing a $5,000 grant. The program works to further beautify the community with public art featured at busy intersections, designed by local high school students. A $5,000 grant was also provided to Dunwoody High School for its 50th year anniversary to support arts and academics.

Fifth Third Bank also donated $5,000 to Roswell High School for its academic initiatives and athletic programs, and $5,000 to North Fulton Community Charities to aid in their job and financial coaching efforts. As part of the Bank’s financial literacy initiatives, they will partner with the nonprofit to host courses for its participants.

“We are excited to continue our planned expansion in the Metro Atlanta market with this opening,” said Randy Koporc, Fifth Third Bank Regional President. “The new center signifies our commitment to growing in Georgia, and we promise to be a pillar in the Dunwoody and Roswell communities.”

Driven by the rising role of digital tools in customers’ lives, there has been a shift in how customers use retail bank branches. The bank centers will feature Fifth Third’s Next Gen approach to help meet those needs and expectations.

This Next Gen branch features:

  • Mobile bankers using technology that allows them to meet and serve customers in a variety of settings. Rather than having teller “windows,” the new space gives employees the freedom to move around the lobby. Tablet computers encourage a more direct and personal way of serving customers.
  • A tech wall with a dynamic digital screen.
  • Flexible meeting and seating areas, with layers of privacy that can adjust depending on the need and the type of conversation taking place.

Retail executive Dewayne King says “The next gen branches showcases our desire to make sure customers’ evolving needs are met with our modern and high technology banking model. We encourage residents to stop by the branch to meet the team and allow us to help you meet your financial goals.”

Fifth Third Bank is currently scouting a location for a branch in Atlanta’s Grove Park community, and are scheduled to open other locations in Metro Atlanta soon.
