Goodwill of North Georgia kicked off the big game weekend by connecting sports with their mission to “put people to work” by airing its “Go Big on Good” commercial. The ad was broadcast on local CBS during the 1 p.m. pre-coverage, during the 4th quarters of the game, and the late news broadcast after the game.
The commercial aimed to inform millions in the Atlanta area that no matter the donation size, it helps Goodwill “Go Big on Good.” The entire commercial was staffed by Goodwill employees, highlighting the uniqueness of items that shoppers can expect to find in stores, the bargains offered, as well as the positive environmental effects of shopping secondhand. Most importantly, all donations support the Goodwill mission to “put people to work.”
Last year, Goodwill supported more than 23,000 North Georgians in finding jobs through its 14 career service centers. In January, the organization launched its New Year, New Job Program, which helped over 1,600 North Georgians secure new jobs and explore different career paths. Additionally, the organization unveiled its Clean Tech Infrastructure Academy, which will teach the required skills for maintaining electric vehicle charge stations, solar energy storage, and other clean energy technologies as part of its mission to put people to work.
“We are thrilled to have shared our “Go Big on Good” commercial with millions,” said Elaine Armstrong, Goodwill’s Vice President of Marketing. “Goodwill’s mission is to put people to work, and now, more people will know that their donations count towards not just providing treasures for someone else, but also changing someone else’s life. The organization is thankful for the generous contributions from our board members combined with support from our advertising agency, BRUNNER, for helping to make this possible.”
