Morgan Falls Overlook Park, the site of a recent police investigation into human trafficking, is considered one of the crown jewels of Sandy Springs.
The scenic side of the park has pavilions, playgrounds, porch swings and a fire pit overlooking the Chattahoochee River.
Park-goers can hike wooded trails or venture to the other side of the park, which draws pet owners to the dog park, boaters launching onto the river and walkers who frequent the paved Springway Trail.
It’s not a place where residents would expect prostitution. Nor is the city typically associated with such activity.
On Oct. 9, Sandy Springs police announced a human trafficking operation that included Morgan Falls Overlook Park and resulted in four arrests, the rescue of an adult trafficking victim, and three children being placed in protective custody.
Earlier this year, police shut down four massage parlors that were the focus of an investigation into alleged human trafficking and prostitution.
The separate October investigation at Morgan Falls went viral on social media after Marron Bridges, a real estate agent, posted videos of an officer questioning her while she was walking through the park.

Sandy Springs police have not explained what prompted the officer to approach her during the operation.
In an email on Wednesday, SaportaReport asked whether Bridges was considered a person of interest in the human trafficking investigation and why she was approached.
Police spokesman Sgt. Giovanni Gomez did not directly address either question.
“This remains an active investigation and no additional information is available to release at this time,” Gomez said.
Bridges did not return a phone call seeking comment.
Sandy Springs police have said the human trafficking operation involved the Criminal Investigations Division, Street Crimes Unit, K9 Unit, Narcotics and Vice Unit and Intelligence Unit.
Those arrested include James Brandon, charged with pimping; Na’Kaya Delzora Jones, charged with prostitution, false statements and cruelty to children; and Tamera La’Shay Brasby, charged with solicitation for an illicit sexual act.
Eric Dejuan Lightfoot was charged with trafficking a person for sexual servitude. 11Alive reporter Cody Alcorn reported on social media that Lightfoot allegedly forced a 21-year-old woman into prostitution.

In addition to Morgan Falls Overlook Park, the human trafficking operation took place in the Hammond Drive area.
On Thursday, SaportaReport asked Gomez whether the department is seeing an increase in these types of activities or placing greater emphasis on uncovering them. He has not yet responded.
In another case in August, Sandy Springs police closed an unauthorized after-hours nightclub following a shooting in which a man was wounded and the suspect accidentally shot himself in the parking lot.
Nubia Cafe and Restaurant was operating as an illegal after-hours nightclub without the required state licenses and city permits, according to the city of Sandy Springs. The establishment had become known as a place where patrons could continue drinking after other establishments around metro Atlanta closed.
Although these cases involved different types of illegal activity, the investigations are drawing attention to crimes unfolding in a city more known for its residential neighborhoods, parks and recreational amenities.
