On almost every first and third Thursday of the month, the Ke’nekt Cooperative hosts “Connected Mornings” at their location off Ralph David Abernathy Boulevard. With conversations focused on economic mobility and community resilience, attendees can grab a cup of coffee and speak with local leaders.
On May 7, Karcheik Sims-Alvarado, an assistant professor of Africana Studies at Morehouse College and Chair of the Fulton County Reparations Task Force, visited. Two weeks later, Chandra Farley, the Chief Sustainability Officer for the City of Atlanta spoke with Ann Hill Bond, a Community Journalist with Capitol B News.
In their discussion, Farley answered questions about how big the budget is for the Mayor’s Office of Sustainability and Resilience as well as questions on how to tackle the high energy burden many Atlanta residents face.
While Connected Mornings took the first week of June off, they plan to be back on June 18 with Atlanta’s Chief Cultural Officer Richard Dunn from 8:30 a.m.to 11 a.m.
