A striking new sculpture garden by acclaimed Nigerian artist Olu Amoda is on view at Woodruff Park through June 17.

The exhibit, titled “Memory in the Material,” transforms the park’s landscape with seven large-scale sculptures forged from bolts, nails, and reclaimed metal.

The installation is a part of the Atlanta Downtown Improvement District and Arts & Entertainment Atlanta’s ART in the PARK series. The event is also in partnership with Dashboard, an Atlanta-based nonprofit known for immersive and community-centered public art.

Through large-scale sculptures, he stitches stories of continuity and repair, using found objects as threads that bind past to present.

At the heart of the exhibition is the debut of “Real Housewives of Buckhead,” a trio of sculptural figures never before shown publicly, the statement said, adding that the works blend “satire and symbolism.”

“Woodruff Park has become a place where art, people, and community meet,” said Noa Hecht, Creative Placemaking Lead at the Atlanta Downtown Improvement District. “With each new ART in the PARK installation, we’re continuing to grow a destination in the heart of Downtown where people want to gather, return, and experience something new.”

In less than a year, art installations have attracted more than 121,000 visitors, the statement said.
