Atlanta City Councilman Andre Dickens, a candidate for mayor, said he intends to pursue some of the goals of Mayor Keisha Lance Bottoms’ One Atlanta Housing Affordability Action Plan. The plan, some of which he helped architect, provides a solid framework for future housing policies, he said.
“Where I think it fell short was in some of the implementation,” he told Atlanta Civic Circle in an interview.

Housing should be where the jobs are. If the Google and Microsoft workforce doesn’t feel safe here, they’ll move to the suburbs and we’ll be right where we were in 1980, the hole in the doughnut.
I think they need to build affordable housing also provided affordable homes for people to buy. This is for the working class that can’t afford a home.
People of all economic status should be able to purchase a home. Affordable housing is a slave mentality, people that work hard everyday should be able to purchase a home.
If they can buy a car and live in apartments they should be able to buy an affordable home. If you want to talk about this is further details let me know. I have several plans and buying options.
