Monday Night Brewing is set to open a massive new indoor taproom and outdoor space just steps from the Beltline on Aug. 23, with a full kitchen, coffee and brews for customers to explore.

The Grove is a 17,000 square foot expansion of Monday Night Brewing’s West Midtown taproom. It includes two massive pizza ovens with a full dining menu, a cocktail bar, daily coffee service and a hefty beer list.

It’s a big change from the garage where Jeff Heck and his co-founders, Joel Iverson and Jonathan Baker, started brewing together on Monday nights over a decade ago.

“As you can tell, this place is quite a bit of an upgrade from my garage, and from our original spot right next door,” Heck said.

The Grove will be the main hangout space, while the original taproom will be set aside mostly for private events. By day, the 7,400 square foot taproom will serve coffee, breakfast sandwiches and pastries. Then the space will transition into a full-on brewery with 30 rotating beers on tap, a seasonal cocktail menu and a full wood-fired pizza menu.

“But a lot of things have not changed, and in some ways that’s what I’m even more proud of,” Heck said. “What hasn’t changed is that Monday Night is a place where people from all walks of life, all different perspectives, even differences with beer can come and connect with other people.”

Heck said the brewery is committed to “exceptional beer and exceptional pizza.” Throughout the year, Monday Night Brewing will rotate through about 100 beers. The current menu has 30 taps, with classics like the “404 Lager” that shine alongside seasonal selections. An affordable seasonal cocktail menu has standards like the Bloody Mary alongside inventions like “Strawberry Fields Forever,” a bourbon drink with strawberry, balsamic and Angostura bitters.

A pizza-forward food menu pairs with the drink offerings. Spicy-sweet pepperoni pizzas and veggie-forward pies can serve a crowd, but the wood-fired garlic chicken wings are a surprise menu highlight. The official menu will include dedicated gluten-free pizza options.

But the hallmark of The Grove is the sprawling 17,000 square foot outdoor space. The sloping lawn has plenty of seating, with firepits and a massive outdoor TV screen nestled between native trees and grassy lawn space. The patio buts up against the newly-opened Northwest Beltline trail segment, too.

The Grove has its grand opening on Aug. 23, where customers will get a taste of the drinks and full food menu. Monday Night Brewing co-founders will run brewery tours in the afternoon, and the spot will stay open until midnight.

On Aug. 24, The Grove will reopen for “Family Day” with morning and afternoon markets and the “World’s Shortest Beltline Race” on the newly completed segment. There will also be bubbles, face painting, ice cream and family-friendly activities all day.

In his remarks at the Aug. 20 preview, Heck said his passion is using beer to foster bonds between everyone in Atlanta – and The Grove is where he can do it.

“Our purpose statement for Monday Night is to deepen relationships over some of the best beer in the world,” Heck said.
