Runoff candidate Q and A: Atlanta Board of Education District 3

A runoff begins soon in an election that will see a new member join the Atlanta Public Schools Board of Education in an area that includes parts of northeast and east Atlanta. We asked the two candidates what’s going well with APS — and what needs work.

Michelle Olympiadis and Adzua Agyapon finished with 39 percent and 22 percent of the first-round vote respectively for District 3.  Click to read the Q and A with each:

The schools in District 3 are:

Elementary Schools: Burgess-Peterson Academy, Drew Charter, Morningside, Springdale Park, Toomer, Whitefoord
Middle Schools: Drew Charter, Inman
High Schools: Adult Literacy Program, Alonzo Crim Open Campus, Drew Charter, Henry W. Grady (shared by Districts 1 & 3)
Residential Flexible Learning Program: Hillside Conant (Grades 2-12)

Early voting begins Nov. 27 in various locations and different times in Fulton and DeKalb. The election is Dec. 5.
