The Atlanta Beltline continues its Walk with a Doc series this month at Rodney Cook Sr. Park in Historic Vine City. The free program pairs a short talk from a healthcare professional with a neighborhood walk, supported by Piedmont Healthcare and Google.

This Month: Social Wellness and Healthy Aging

July’s walk takes place Saturday, July 25, 2026, from 9 to 10 a.m. at Rodney Cook Sr. Park’s Outdoor Classroom, near the play area, and focuses on social wellness and healthy aging.

Every Walk with a Doc opens with insights from a healthcare professional on the month’s topic, followed by a leisurely walk through the park and continued conversation with a medical professional. Participants move at their own pace and distance, which makes it an easy entry point for anyone looking to build healthier habits without pressure or a steep learning curve.

A New Topic Every Month

Walk with a Doc runs on the last Saturday of every month, March through November, with a different health topic each time. The remainder of the 2026 schedule includes:

  • August 29: Lifestyle Medicine
  • September 26: Childhood Obesity Awareness, Youth Mental Health, & Injury Prevention
  • October 31: Breast Cancer & Menopause Awareness
  • November 28: National Diabetes Awareness & Prevention Month

Free Health Screenings on Site

Following each walk, Piedmont Healthcare’s Mobile Health Vehicle, made possible through support from Google, is on-site offering free health screenings for the community. It’s one piece of the Beltline’s broader free wellness programming along the corridor, which also includes free fitness classes throughout the year.
