Jennifer Ide and Kirk Rich are both angling to become an Atlanta City Council freshman in this year’s election. Incumbent Alex Wan is running for City Council president.

We asked the candidates who have qualified to have their name placed on the ballot their thoughts about City Council, the district, and their plans if elected. Click to read the Q and As:

Both candidates are pretty impressive fundraisers. Ide reported raising a total $80,599 in campaign dollars through June 30. Rich reported $95,764 through the same time period, which includes a $20,000 loan to his own campaign. The next round of disclosures are due next month.

The election is on Nov. 7.

The deadline to register to vote is Oct. 10.
