The pendulum of opinion swings freely when it comes to the question of form following function. It isn’t necessary to get into that debate here, I bring it up only to offer that, sometimes, it doesn’t matter where one stands on the question. Often, it’s the person paying the bill who determines which way the pendulum will swing.
It is true, a strong-willed artist can always put their foot down, but it did take a steely determination to do so in front of Mr. Robert W. Woodruff. Be that as it may, that did not stop one Atlantan from developing a strong opinion on just such an issue, as we’ll learn in this week’s Stories of Atlanta.
