Do you know how many children in your community face hunger?

Did you know that more than 350,000 kids are at risk of going without one or more meals this summer? That means 1 in five kids will face hunger when school’s out later this month.

You can change that. Now’s your chance to say, “Lunch is on me!”

We’re kicking off our fourth annual Silence the Growl – a campaign to fight summer hunger among children who receive federally funded free and reduced meals during the school year. Last year, United Way and its partners fed nearly 50,000 meals to children that are not part of a summer lunch program. This year’s goal is to provide more than 60,000 meals. The campaign ends June 30.

This year, we hope to connect more than 60,000 meals with children so they can enjoy the summer and be ready to learn in the fall. There are several ways you can get involved and partner with United Way’s Silence the Growl campaign.
