The MARTA Board of Directors’ unexplained ethics review involves one of its own members, according to a transit agency spokesperson.
That unnamed member is still serving and has not been suspended, according to MARTA spokesperson Stephany Fisher.
The board met privately on Jan. 12 in a two-hour executive session to discuss personnel matters and litigation. In the open part of the meeting afterward, board member Jim Durrett moved to create an “advisory board of ethics” to review the “personnel issue that we discussed in executive session.”
It remains unclear what type of ethics issue is involved. The exact format of the ethics review is unclear but may involve the hiring of an outside firm.
