MARTA leadership team members recognized for achievements

Two members of MARTA’s executive management team have been recognized as industry leaders as the Authority prepares for a time of unprecedented growth and service expansion. Marsha Anderson Bomar, assistant general manager of capital program delivery, and Frank Rucker, chief of capital programs, were recently honored for their achievements.

Anderson Bomar received the Theodore M. Matson Memorial Award for outstanding contributions in the field of traffic engineering. The award has been given annually since 1957 and is named for one of the founders of the Institute of Transportation Engineers.

Anderson Bomar oversees the offices of Engineering/Infrastructure, Capital Programming, Program Management, and Construction Management and Architecture. She and her team ensure timely delivery of capital projects and programs within budget. Prior to joining MARTA, she served as the Executive Director of the Gateway85 Community Improvement District, the largest CID in Georgia, where she focused on mobility, infrastructure, safety, security, and economic development.

Frank Rucker, MARTA chief of capital programs

Frank Rucker was named one of Atlanta’s Men of Influence for 2019 by the Atlanta Business League. The designation is made for men who have reached senior level positions within their profession, are influential politically, and committed to civic and community involvement.

Rucker, a professional engineer, worked on the multi-billion-dollar capital improvement program at Hartsfield-Jackson Atlanta International Airport, and brings almost 40 years of experience to MARTA as the Authority begins to implement its largest expansion in decades. The $2.7 billion More MARTA Atlanta program currently underway marks the beginning of historic mobility improvements and transit infrastructure enhancements citywide.
