OPERATION HOPE PARTNERS WITH RBC BANK TO PRESENT HOUSING AND FINANCIAL LITERACY EXPO

Operation HOPE, in collaboration with RBC Bank, will host its biannual Housing & Financial Literacy Expo at the Martin Luther King Snr. Community Resource Complex on the campus of the historic Ebenezer Baptist Church in downtown Atlanta on October 13. Offered at no cost to participants, the Expo will feature a series of seminars educating participants on the essentials of becoming a first-time homebuyer, information about down payment assistance, the importance of a healthy credit profile, and insight into getting a home mortgage loan. More than 250 metro Atlanta residents are expected to attend the Expo alongside representatives from HOPE’s community partners: RBC Bank, Invest Atlanta, and the Atlanta Neighborhood Development Partnership.

The Operation HOPE Homeownership Program, a core focus of the award-winning HOPE Inside financial empowerment model developed by Operation HOPE, is designed to empower individuals and families for whom homeownership would be difficult if not impossible. Historically, about 80% of Expo attendees enroll in the Homeownership Program following the event. Along with free admission, the Expo will also include food and a chance for participants to win a gift card for their new home.

Through the commitments of dedicated partners, Operation HOPE has supported more than 10,000 Americans in the purchase of a new home, resulting in more than $1 billion in residential mortgages. Through the Homeownership Program, HUD-certified financial wellbeing coaches support clients with the tools and resources to fund a home purchase, and help people overcome a variety of common barriers to homeownership, including bad credit, lack of down payment, existing debt, and money management issues. The Homeownership program is offered at over 100 HOPE Inside locations across the nation, including one in RBC Bank in Atlanta.

All participants must register to attend the expo by contacting Kimberly Pickett with Operation HOPE at Kimberly.Pickett@operationhope.org or via Eventbrite
