“Wonder Woman” isn’t wonderful.
Okay, there, I said.
While the entire future of women in Hollywood is apparently riding on this femme-centric action flick (Variety-speak) and while the critics have raved and audiences have rallied, I just can’t join the celebration.
“Wonder Woman” is sturdy. It’s expensive. Its star, Gal Gadot (a former Miss Israel; who knew Wonder Woman was a nice Jewish girl?), is winning and hard-working.

As Women’s History Month, with its selected celebrations of women’s achievements in business, education, the arts and even politics drew to a close, women received many reminders in recent weeks of just how much is left to do before the face of power truly changes to one which is more equitable and representative.

No doubt about it, women voters of all ages are the deciding factor in this election cycle as political pundits increasingly predict Georgia will move to a blue column in this year’s presidential contest for the first time since 1992.
Legislative seats and private sector leadership positions held by women are leading indicators for a strong progressive streak in Georgia, which is obscured by the fact that all statewide offices and the majorities in the House and Senate are currently held by Republicans, who are predominately pale and male.
