I was there ……..with my buddy David from college. We plopped down in the steaming infield of the Atlanta Raceway at Hampton after dragging an ice chest seemingly for miles from where I had parked my old Chevy Biscayne. The second (and last ) Atl Pop Festival was held the next summer at Byron Ga. near Macon. Unfortunately I couldn’t make that one…..my presence had been requested at Ft Bragg, N.C, for the summer of 1970.
