This week the Junior League of Atlanta (JLA) is “Celebrating Service” during National Volunteer Appreciation Week! JLA is a powerhouse of over 3,000 unstoppable women focused on the issues facing women and children across the Atlanta community! Committed and dedicated volunteer service is the foundation of all that JLA does and it inspires so many others to get involved and serve.

JLA members prove that the collective power of diverse, trained women, joined together to identify and tackle unmet needs, and forge effective coalitions, can dramatically improve our community.

Over the last year, JLA volunteers served over 175,000 hours and impacted over 7,000 families connecting them to organizations, community resources and empowering them for sustainability.  The Junior League of Atlanta is a trailblazer in development for women, igniting volunteerism, exemplifying voluntarism and positively impacting the community in the metro Atlanta area through:

  • Providing quality leadership training for women with community organizational placement
  • Providing resources and citywide awareness to impact generational poverty
  • Creating awareness and resources for the prevention of commercial sexual exploitation and human trafficking
  • Advocating for early childhood education

To celebrate, we’ll be highlighting some of the outstanding work that’s being done by JLA women to transform the lives of women and children. Follow along on social media by searching the hashtag, #WEareJLAtlanta We want others to know where our members are serving in the community and why they serve!

We are forever grateful for the gift of time, talent and treasure from our members, volunteers and friends. And we know that through the membership of our members, their service and impact ensures that the JLA legacy of building a better community continues for generations to come.

Happy National Volunteer Month– Thank You for your Service!
