Connection. It is a word, feeling and experience that gained a new and perhaps more poignant sense of meaning for each of us over the past 18 months. Through the pandemic, it is clear that being connected to other people and experiences is a fundamental necessity for a meaningful life.
The footbridge to be built across an interstate highway near Kennesaw is the latest example in metro Atlanta of a new bridge built solely to help people walk, bike, skate or scoot on a trail system.
The long-awaited Eastside Trolley Line Trail, east of Little Five Points, is slated to open by Dec. 31, 2022. The date is in a contract with the PATH Foundation pending expected approval Feb. 15 by the Atlanta City Council.

Transportation options.
Never have those two words held as much meaning for Atlanta as they do now. The Friday collapse of a section of Interstate 85 – has severed a key transportation artery for the region.
Immediately, and with good reason, there were pleas for us to get serious about regional rail transit – once and for all. A silver lining of this manmade disaster is the probability that transit will gain momentum during this transportation debacle.
Metro Atlanta leaders have voted to continue the region’s tradition of dreaming big when it comes to civic improvements. This time, the plan is a comprehensive approach to make it safer to walk and ride bicycles.
