They are J. Neal Purcell, a leader in financial services; Ray Robinson, a telecommunications executive; and the husband-and-wife team – Lyn and Bob Turknett, leadership consultants.

Column: Home Depot raising commitment to veteran causes to $500 million

The Home Depot Foundation will invest an additional $250 million in veteran causes by 2025, bringing the company’s commitment to veteran causes to $500 million.

The company is scheduled to make a formal announcement at a Veterans Day celebration on event on Nov. 9 at the Home Depot BackYard next to the Mercedes Benz Stadium.

Two iconic Atlanta business leaders will be honored at the 2019 JA Atlanta Business Hall of Fame on Feb. 23 at the InterContinental Buckhead.

They are Rosalind “Roz” Brewer, chief operating officer and group president of Starbucks Corp. (Nasdaq: SBUX); and John F. Brock, retired CEO of Coca-Cola European Partners (NYSE: CCE).

Decatur-based task force becoming ground zero for global elimination of hepatitis B and C

The Decatur-based Task Force for Global Health is becoming ground zero for the global elimination of hepatitis B and C.

The Viral Hepatitis Elimination Program, an initiative supported by the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention as well as a host of other global health partners, will be based at the new headquarters of the Task Force.

Column: Group hopes new Georgia governor will join literacy movement

The Georgia Literacy Commission held its last meeting on Oct. 18, but its work is far from done.

At a meeting held at UBS offices in Buckhead, commission members and guests honored their co-chairs: Georgia First Lady Sandra Deal; Atlanta Gas Light’s Wendell Dallas; retired BellSouth executive Phil Jacobs; and Georgia Public Broadcasting’s Teya Ryan.
